MY 2d projects

Fairies' Treasures

This illustration is a personal piece inspired by the world of fairy tales. I wanted to create a soft, luminous scene by playing with the relationship between the characters and their surroundings. I paid particular attention to the composition, colors and lighting, with rays of light streaming through the foliage to draw the eye toward the characters. The foreground elements also add depth and create a sense of immersion in this magical forest.

The Barbarian

This illustration is an original piece inspired by the style and world of Helen of Wyndhorn by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. I was especially drawn to Bilquis Evely’s work, particularly her shapes, her silhouettes and her approach to fantasy.

I researched anatomy, color and lighting to build a dynamic character and an atmosphere inspired by the world of the comic, while developing my own design and visual interpretation.

End of the day countryside

This illustration was inspired by a photo of a little girl feeding chickens—a simple scene that made me want to create my own interpretation of it. I finished it fairly quickly, in about 30 minutes and on a single layer, which allowed me to work more freely and spontaneously.

Above all, I wanted to focus on the atmosphere of the scene, with the warm late-afternoon light filtering through the trees and creating a sense of calm and gentleness.

Book cover

I love reading; I didn’t always love it, but once I started, I couldn’t stop! A few days ago, while browsing the young adult fiction section (I always stop there—it’s a reflex), I stumbled upon a real gem: a reissue of the very famous Harry Potter.
The cover was so fresh, so beautiful, that it inspired me to try a little exercise: designing covers for my favorite books.

Without hesitation, I wanted to illustrate the characters from Écarlate, a novel by the very talented Élisabeth Koshava.
